The Fargo Force met the Indiana Ice for the second game of a weekend series inside Scheels Arena in front of 3,991 fans, with little changing in the Force’s offensive game.

“Tonight was the same story,” said Head Coach John Marks. “We got outworked.”

At the end of the night, the Force were outshot by the Ice 36-12, with Fargo’s largest offensive effort coming in the third period with seven shots on goal and a goal by C.J. Hayes.

The Ice kept their shots on goal in the double digits each period, with goals scored by Dwyer Tschantz, Joshua Jacobs and two from Denis Smirnov.

The Force had another difficult night with special teams, coming up empty-handed on five power play attempts and allowing one power play goal.

“Indiana is a better team than we are, and they work harder than we do,” said Marks. “We’ve got a long ways to go. We’ll be doing a lot of rebuilding in the future.”

Hayden Stewart, in his first start in goal for the Ice after being traded to the team from the Dubuque Fighting Saints, came away with 11 saves and the win.

The Force will return to Scheels Arena at 7:05 PM on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 for a weekend series against the Waterloo Black Hawks.
